FROM BAUHAUS TO OUR HOUSE

Tom Wolfe, certainly knows about architects and their work and he absolutely knows how to portray his knowledge to capture the readers’ interests. However, his book cannot be considered source of architectural theory because the author does not explain the buildings in detail, but when he explains building the purpose is of ironical reference.
There are always jokes and humor in the text that is relevant to the point he is saying and that makes it more straightforward for me to understand about history, which I usually find quite dull. I particularly have interest on how the The World War II acted as a catalyst in transforming Modern Architecture and American Architecture and acquired a scholastic world vision of Architecture. This, I think, relates to us, the students of architectural study. It portrays how we are today.
